While browsing the web you may find files that you want to download, such as PDFs, music, software applications and so forth. This section describes how Flock helps manage your downloaded files.
The download manager
When you start downloading files from the Internet, the download manager automatically opens and keeps track of the files for you.
When you start to download a file, the download manager will ask whether you want to open the file, or save it on your computer. If you want to open the file, you can specify which program on your computer should open it. If you choose to save the file, the download manager opens and tracks the progress of your download. The download manager shows how much time it will take to finish the download. Once started, you can pause, resume, or cancel the download.
Flock may alert you if a file you're downloading contains an application. Downloaded applications may have unwanted side effects, or may include unsafe components, such as viruses or spyware. To be safe, only download files from trusted sources.
Keeping track of downloaded files
You can open the download manager if you want to view or edit the list of files you've downloaded. Open the Tools menu and choose Downloads.
To remove a file from the list, click Remove. Click Clean Up to remove all completed, canceled, or failed downloads from the list. Removing a file from the list will not remove it from your computer. To remove the file from your computer you must find the downloaded file on your system and delete it manually.
Most files can be opened directly from the download manager by clicking Open or by double-clicking on the file name.
Note: Some files, such as programs, can't be opened from the Download window for safety reasons.
Customizing the download manager
You can adjust the behavior of the download manager from Flock's Preferences menu.To customize the download manager
