I just had to share this video with you. Flock's CEO Shawn Hardin stopped by the TechNow show (as seen on several California NBC stations) to talk about Flock 2.0, and I think it turned out great!
What I love about this video is how they deconstruct the browser piece by piece. Flock can be intimidating at first (something we're constantly working on improving), but the way they split up the features is a fantastic way to introduce them.
Also, I think that's probably the coolest that Shawn's name has ever looked.

Hey Evan, I'm giving another shot at Flock on my brand new MacBook Pro! I love the idea of having everything in the browser. My biggest concern, however, is that it does not feel/look like a native Mac OS X app, maybe because it's not ;-)
Hey maybe I should make a browser in Cocoa that has all that ;) ;)
@johntheone: Thanks for the kind words! Of course, we grow the most via word of mouth so I hope you have been and will continue to tell your friends!
@StuFF: Good to see you back! Would you say that the Firefox3 Mac Theme feels like a native Mac OS X app? If so, we've got something coming soon you'll like.

Hi Evan,
I wait for long time but the video above did not worked. I pressed the Play button many times but nothing happened [it just says "connecting to media"]. [Tried to watch the video in Flock and also in Firefox 2.0.0.13, but it didn't worked]
Anyway, I opened the "technowtv" site and was able to watch the video there. I think this is a great video and it says it all about Flock. Anyone who watches this video is going try Flock [for at least one time] and I am sure that they are gonna love it :)

I had my macbook a year this month and I love using flock on it. I blog with the Flock blog editor, I upload pictures and use Photobucket with Flock. I read rss feeds with the flock rss reader, on and on. I use the myblue theme, it is inspiring

This is great, but even greater: learning that you can drag a photo from the media stream into someone's profile on the status update feed... I would love to see a "tip of the week" or similar to learn things like that that we don't necessarily figure out on our own... Thanks! Keep up the good (great!) work!

this is how I really found out about Flock and I loving it very much. This is a really cool web browser. I am still learning but it is pretty easy to use.
@Your Name: It appears to be working fine now, let me know if the issue is persisting for you.
@Andy Kennedy: Yeah, that is definitely one of our hidden cool features. As for a "Tip of the Week", I'd highly recommend you follow us on Twitter. In addition to announcements and answering questions, I often post tips.
Flock 1.2.7 should be going out in the next week. We ran into a few kinks otherwise it'd be out earlier, but rest assured we're working to get it to you ASAP.

Hey, I'm starting to like this browser! But, one of the main things that keeps me from making the switch from firefox to flock is that you haven't integrated instant messengers into your browser. As you all know, firefox has this great add-on, called Yooono, that has everything (and I mean everything!) a social network fanatic needs in this day and age. It has all this features as your browser does plus the most popular instant messengers built right in the app! I mean msn, yahoo, gtalk and aim! Right in the browser! If you guys could do this, you would bring in a lot more people like myself (that are yoono users) to your side of the fence. There are subtle nuances that Yoono does better, but you guys have coded it into the browser itself, and you can clearly see that performance-wise! Please think about integrating a multi-protocol messenger! We will all thank you for it for a long time to come!

wow. thanks for ruining a formerly decent browser for me. I specifically did NOT authorize any update, but you snuck one into my WRONG drive anyway. I have flock installed on my g drive for a good reason: there isn't enough space on my c drive! but you absolute world's worst jerks have without my permission, snuck your stupid 500 megabyte download of update, into my c drive anyway. assholes. now i have about 71 megabytes left on my c drive. AND, if i merely moved Flock back over to g drive where i had put it in the first place, it will invariably LOSE all my favorited important pages. So, don't be proud of yourselves for anything. I only use this browser for its now-crippled ease of using photobucket. Tell me how to move flock over to my ceedo g drive without losing my favorites. Before I start talking to the us attorney general about your unauthorized invasion of my c drive, by unauthorized downloads etc etc.
you should offer us a choice of where to put the updates, or else have the program find itself on our various drives rather than stupidly inserting itself into c drive without any choice about it.
in case you don't realize this, you cause serious disruption, time wastage and trouble with this idiocy of yours.

Whatever new theme you have coming for the Mac can't come soon enough. I can't wait to get rid of this ugly white UI on Flock. Flock is a great browser and my default browser but it was the wrong decision to go with a white UI on Mac OS X Leopard. It's terribly out of place and looks very strange. While I find the buttons on Firefox 3's Mac version to be more Vista like and too big overall it is more Mac like in the looks department. Right now I am using the MyBlue theme which is awesome.

1st, I love the browser, now. When I signed on I thought I was told that all my Firefox themes would come over with me.
Im a guy who loves to change the look with the season, or even the month.
Guess what. It didnt happen. Im bummed. Is there a plugin I didnt download or what? Unfortunately Firefox has no help from their page I can find. Let me know will you? Blue and white gets old no matter the season.
Mark: When you first start Flock, it will ask if you want to import Favorites and Settings from either Internet Explorer or Firefox, but it will not import themes. Flock does have a couple themes available but nowhere near the number of themes in Firefox. It remains to be seen if Flock will support themes created by end-users for the Flock browser.
why would i trust YOU with my precious name?: In the rare case you read this, any chance you can post your problem on http://getsatisfaction.com/flock?
There's a chance that you've discovered a bug. What folder path is this data sitting in? While I'm familiar with Flock's profile system, I haven't tried moving my profile to a different location or hard drive, and I would be curious if I could reproduce your problem.
With a bit of work, you should be able to locate your current profile, create a new profile on your G drive, and move the contents of your current profile (including favorites) into this new profile folder. More detailed information is better left for the GetSatisfaction.com/flock support forum rather than this general-interest thread.

I was encountering numerous errors and flock would often shut down. I also had my screen freezing up and noticed more difficulty when using Dreamweaver 8. I bought more memory and have had very few problems, if any since installing more memory. I'll keep watching to see what else may cause it to shut down.
