I have been been using a web browswer for a very long time and until now I have never been infected by a virus. Somebody spoofed an CNN RSS feed and got (silly) me to click on a "download flash component" missing graphic. That let this virus onto my computer that has been impossible to eliminate (Norton, McAfee, Spybot etc. couldn't get rid of it. Means I'll probably have to F-disk and lose about a weeks worth of data.
Thanks motherflockers!

While it's unfortunate that you were infected, Flock isn't responsible. I suspect you would have the same problem if you used a different browser or RSS reader. CNN alert emails have been spoofed recently too, leading to the same trojan payload. Be sure to keep your antivirus software up-to-date and be careful when browsing.

Hey,
Sorry to hear about your problem, before you fdisk could you tell me what has gone wrong? Will it not delete because it says another process is using it (this also goes for if it's saying you don't have permission)?
If so then I'll link you to the appropriate software to remove the file fully.

try using AVG to get rid of it. It usually catches stuff that Norton doesn't...for me that is.

Norton 360 gets rid of it.

Please could you direct me to the removal tool for Joke.Blusod Trojan. Much appreciated.

Iit is getting smarter or so the programmer is. I was hit on the 24th. I read a post on another site that got rid of the whitescreen by registery and removing it. Then run a malware removal and all looked good except that it messed with my ability to use my wirelesee connection... I have been working on getting that fixed for two days and it is back again ....with white, blue screens and the malware can't spot it .... any suggestions short of chucking it all?

The best program I've found for malware detection and removal is Malwarebytes' Antimalware. Just do a manual update, then run a quick scan, it'll catch anything and everything there is and as long as you don't pay for the autoupdate, it's free. Check that one first before FDisk or anything else. I pair it with Avira and haven't seen or felt the effects of any trojans, viruses, malware of any kind since.
