As many of you Facebook users may know, Facebook is in the process of rolling out some pretty dramatic changes to their website. They have been kind enough to make most of their changes available prior to
release for testing, but of course some things change along the way. Fortunately, to make your experience with transitioning to the new pages as seamless as possible, we've been able to make several updates to Flock before the new design is even generally available.
Nevertheless, we know of two issues with the new Facebook that we're still actively working to address. The first is that you can't update your Facebook status through Flock's people sidebar when using the new Facebook. Secondly, we're in the process of tweaking how Flock's drag-n-drop works with Facebook's overhaul of their Wall feature.
We hope to have fixes rolled out in the next week or so. Thanks in advance for your patience and keep on Flocking!

i have a problem with the side bar it causes my home page to disappear about the width of the sidebar, but on the right side if i move the slider on the bottom it doesn't help as that part of the page stays blank
just FYI. I'm using flock 2.0b2 and the new style profile on facebook and my people sidebar updates my facebook status no problem. Can't speak for flock 1.2 however.
1.2.4 just updated my Facebook status without a problem. I haven't done anything to switch over the new Facebook, though, if that matters, but I do appear to be using it as my profile is now www.new.facebook...
I've noticed that the Flock 1.2.4 says I'm not logged into Facebook even after I've successfully logged in several times. It's just not seeing me as doing so. I'm gonna try the Flock 2 beta and see if it helps.
hi,
just a question : has Flock got an agreement with each website (Digg, Facebook, FlickR...) or is it totally free and legal for Flock to propose such a service ?
thanx
I may have spoken too soon. I was able to update my status via Flock last week, but maybe it was still accepting info from the old format. This week I have had two failed attempts to update my status via Flock.
@tomtom: Flock abides by the Terms of Service of all of the services we integrate, and we use their public API's (versus the manual method called "pagescraping"). So no, we don't have agreements with the websites, but what we do is legal.
@Rob E: Has your profile switched over to the new look yet?

Facebook has not worked on my people sidebar for over a week now. It says I'm logged out, even though I'm not. Usually, Flock comes out with some update that fixes this problem. But its been going on for a while now, so i wasn't sure if it was just me or if anyone else is having this problem.

@Ken, Grupgirl, Peteo - I've got the same issue. I find if I click "take me back to the old facebook" it logs in, then I can go back to the new facebook. Not really the point of Flock though, manually logging into a service...
I am sorry to hear the Facebook at People sidebar doesn't work for you folks. In order for me to understand the questions better, I would like you folks to answer a few questions:
1. Which O/S and Flock version are you currently using?
2. Have you tried to press "Forgot Account" at your facebook account at Accounts and Services sidebar?
3. Did it happen when you toggled between old facebook to new facebook and back to old facebook?
4. Is the filter at the people sidebar clear?
I accidentally clicked on the button that asked me if I wanted Flock to be my web search engine, but I don't. How can I change it back to what I had before. (I have it on my desktop)
Open the web browser you want to use as your web search engine.
Safari: Go to Edit, Preferences, General tab. In the default web browser dropdown you can choose from among the browsers installed on your computer (that's pretty handy if you have Safari installed!).
Firefox: Go to Tools, Options, Advanced panel, General tab, then click Check Now.
Internet Explorer: Go to Tools, Internet Options, Programs tab, Make default.
Google Chrome: Go to the wrench icon, Options, Basic tab, Make Google Chrome my default browser.
I can no longer see my Facebook friends in the People sidebar. I have reloaded the browser and reset account settings in Facebook -- all to no avail. I lost this feature when Facebook switched me over to the new Facebook interface. Any further info you can provide would be much appreciated.

Seems like the new layout also came with a new Facebook API, put into global use as of Sept 29th. Facebook announcement
The impact is severe and the facebook sidebar in Flock has stopped working.
When will this be ok again? Hopefully soon, I really have grown addicted to having it working...
Keep up the good work guys, Flock rules!
Regards

I'm loving the new Flock 2.0b2 - and the new Facebook works just great with it too. I'm a total convert to Flock!

Off-topic, but what about the new Delicious?
Grup Girl, it's not just you. I'm having the same issue, where the sidebar has me being logged out, but of course I am not when visiting the website.
Hopefully, there's a "fix" next week or something.
