As I'm sure you've noticed, the developers here at Flock are not ones to stand still very long. We're proud to announce that today, Flock's 1.2 public beta release is available on our site. With this latest release, Flock has integrated Digg, Pownce and AOL Mail into the browser, making it easier than ever for Flock users to stay connected with their friends and favorite services on the Web.

Let me start with Digg. What's not to love about Digg? They pioneered the whole category of social news and have done an incredible job of making news entertaining and engaging for everyone. Fortunately for all of us, the folks at Digg have made news consumption cool for an entire generation of people. We like what they've done so much that we made sure you can take Digg with you wherever you are on the Web by using Flock. Flock's People sidebar plugs right into Digg so that you can always check out the stories that your friends have Dugg and easily share with them from anywhere on the web. You can also post your discoveries to Digg easily by using your sidebar or the Diggman icon next to the address bar in Flock. We're all really excited about the Digg integration and look forward to hearing your comments.

But that's not all! We've also integrated Pownce into this beta release. Pownce is a service that "allows you to send stuff to your friends," such as music, photos, videos, messages and links. Pownce is another highly useful service which appears as a 'People' service in Flock. Pownce and Flock fit very nicely together, because we share the belief that connecting and sharing with your friends keeps things much more interesting. We're very happy about the addition of Pownce and hope that you enjoy their service as much as we do.

Rounding out this release, we've also added AOL Mail to Flock's existing webmail options.

We couldn't be happier about the continuing evolution of newly added services into the Flock experience and honestly couldn't have asked for a nicer group of folks to work with across the board.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this latest beta release. Please send us your thoughts and comments to our feedback page.

Cheers and Enjoy!

You should add hotmail!

I want Last.FM integrated on Flock pleaseee

I second the call for Last.fm integration :)

Yes, Last.Fm integration would be great.

Flock on!

Nice upgrades gang. Any thoughts about FriendFeed integration ?

Last.FM too.. ;)

Last FM would be awesome. (As would Google Bookmarks)

These upgrades sounds very cool.

Especially the Digg integration. That is what I always wanted.

Have to go and download it :)

Yes I agree,

Last.FM would be great!
Keep up the good work!

Nice upgrade and also hope so ADD Myspace and Last.fm application. Thanks!

You guys rock. Digg integration will be really useful.

I'd love to see some stumbleupon integration... although yes I know you can just add the bar, it would be sweet if you didn't have to. That kind of thing would go great with Pownce and others

Oh and I agree on the last.fm :)

Thank's! I love new flock versions :-) And Last.fm would be great!
But what about google reader? I know you have you're own rss reader in flock, but that is the only function i don't use. It's simply not intuitive to use ... (sorry ;-) )

Hey folks,

Thanks for all the love!

Regarding Last.fm: I will log your votes for Last.fm, and I am happy to report that it has quite a few votes. We are definitely looking into it on our end. You can help! Please drop the last.fm guys a line and let them know that you want to see last.fm integration in Flock! Start a thread on their forums: http://www.last.fm/forum/ and tell them how much you love them and Flock!

Regarding MySpace: We are still planning on integrating MySpace this year. Work with their newly hatched API is slow, but we're getting there.

Regarding Hotmail: We are looking into Hotmail's new API at this time, and we'll see if we can integrate it.

The rest: Votes logged for stumbleupon, Google bookmarks, and friendfeed.

Thanks for continuing to rock!

Again, no Ipernity support. :-/

Coming back for version 1.3...

Why not a Dailymotion support ?

Addition of Hyves.net would be awesome, the almost only-used social network in the Netherlands.

Also, Hotmail and Myspace should be added and Google Reader :)

I would bake the Flock team cookies if they added Last.FM integration. That should count as several votes. :P

+1 for Last.fm

+1 for Ipernity

{and later this year I will contact someone to see what is necessary for an Italian languafe release}

I will add a vote for last.fm.

You guys have done an outstanding job and deserve a great big Thank You from us Users

Also, do you think to put a refresh rate on Feeds? The Flock FeedReader it's great, but we need to receive news more quickly!

@Jowra: I believe I logged your vote for Ipernity awhile ago. Unfortunately, it hasn't gotten a lot of support, and the number of people using the site/service are not very high.

@mewshew: I'll log your vote for dailymotion.

@Jop: I'll log your votes for those services. We're looking into Hotmail's new API at this time, and MySpace is definitely coming later this year (work with their API is slow).

@moshjosh: That's a very nice offer, I have sent it on to our VP of BizDev. :)

@KOoLiNuS: I'll log your votes. FYI, there already is an Italian Language version at http://www.flock.com/versions

@parrais: Vote logged for last.fm. Please see my note earlier in this thread about reaching out to last.fm...please go tell them you want Flock integration as well!

@john: Thanks! :)

@JimmY: This is definitely coming later this year!

LinkedIn integration please

All those services sound great (especially Last.fm & MySpace), but most important to me at the moment is Flock with the new, faster Gecko engine that's used in Firefox 3... That'll be nice...

There are two features I would love to see in next Flock's upgrade:

1. Color management to enhance the color properties of images. Firefox 3 and Safari already have this feature.
2. Faster rendering engine similar or equal to the one Firefox 3 will be using.

Other than that, Flock is the dream social browser.

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
Eleanor Roosevelt

hey i love the browser's media toolbar type thing at the top, but what is making me SOOO frustrated is that when you are viewing your favourites from YouTube, you can only see the first 10...the rest are on the website which you have to get to yourself and this is SO annoying and is bugging me..and i was just starting to really love Flock

could this PLEASEE be fixed up soon? seems like a somewhat big bug in the system...thanks a bunch

please add dailymotion, it's very popular for people who speak french

add "Live spaces" please :-)

Support with last.fm and google reader would be awesome; also, I think more video sharing sites should be supported, such as Dailymotion, Veoh, Megavideo, etc.

I love friendster and we Filipinos really are the majority users of friendster that's why we love to see it be integrated in Flock. In my social community, I was able to recruit most of my friends to use Flock as their social site browser and we really love it.

Hi,

I would like to know if (and when) flock will have an rss/xml/podcast reader includes, cause reading podcasts and recording it in the same time is a thing that a lot of people (including me) wants to do.

For example a software called Noopod ( http://www.noopod.com/index.php?page=intro&newlang=en ) allowing to do it!

Unfortunately, i don't use it cause there are some bugs, and i can't record my podcasts, just listening it...

So, Flock, will you do it? :)

Flickr for me does not work!
You should add the tag function for delicious!
Why not add also stumble upon?
I'm using the beta for digg and works very good, thanks!

I would love to see Google Apps e-mail support, the should be pretty similar to Gmail?

Thanks (o:

...must be the last person on earth to discover flock. but just downloaded it tonight and love it. also posted my first blog post using it..too cool.

Cool additions (well, ahem, AOL mail?). Still no RSS subs synching though. Being able to store feeds through something like Google Reader and access them through Flock as regular 'local' feeds would be brilliant. Pretty please?

linkedin & google reader please.

yeah, I also want to see flock integration with Google Apps e-mail support.it will be great!!!

Flock is a huge leap forwards for the 'browser' and has features and compatibility that no other browser can supply, I advise everybody to get this browser and find out what has been missing in all the others. It is easy, fast, efficient, with an attractive logical layout, as you use it you will find that there are features that pave the way for all the media streaming, tags, bookmarking and whatever else you could possibly need for a complete experience, whether you are being social or technical. Top Marks!

that would be GREAT O:

Unfortunately it is almost unusably slow on the PPC Mac OS X version :-(

thanks a lot for your work, it' awsome ! with Flock I found at last some intelligent browser ! (let me think... how long did we have to wait for this... 10 years ? maybe 12 ! (and I don't want to remember all these non-working versions of IE or others we had to use all these years..)

well, thanks from France, we LOVE Flock down here
and I vote for Deezer !!

i! I am a Japanese. Though I looked for English study in various ways, I commented because contents were interesting. I was able to enjoy it very much. In addition, I come to look. Please keep it for us. Thank you!

Why not include Friendster too? Its great if its integrated in there!
N when will the Flock be using the new Firefox 3 platform? I'm waiting on that . Thanks!

Are you going to add Google Apps to Flock anytime soon?

Hi: Plaxo integration will be pretty nice too, thx in advance

Wow, seeing all these comments I don't think this is all going to fit in the browser. It would be nice if you could download modules or building blocks or each service. Then the browser is customizable for everyone since the wishes are so different.

Interaction design

I only recently joined the Flock community and so far have been extremely impressed with your browser and its facilities. I presently use 3 specific browsers and stopped using IE6 a while ago in favour of Safari 3.1 and running your browser as well, at present you are in the lead.

I would really like you to add Ning to the integrations.
