When I wait for any flickr page to load, Flock freezes up for about 5 seconds before displaying it. This happens no matter how many extensions I have installed and no matter which computer I use it on (Vista or XP). Can anybody confirm this?

Yup - I can confirm that Flock denies, freezes or 'cannot find server' for
aol webmail, Flickr, Gmail and Youtube...plus Youtube comes out completely wrong.
I then go across to Firefox or Netscape or Opera or IE and sign in immediately
to all f these with problem.
Flock is nice idea to have various browsers 'always on' with realtime updating but until they sort it out, it's a --censored-- crock and I'm dumping it.

Hey Vic,
First of all, please do not curse on my forums. We want this to be a friendly place for everyone, and we specifically ask you not to be profane in our community guidelines. You're not helping anyone with that language.
Second, the issue you speak of is entirely abnormal; Flock does not mess up rendering of of logging into pages often because the engine behind it is the Firefox engine. There's obviously something strange going on that you are experiencing, and I'm sure our Community Support Lead, Jen Anderberg, would be happy to work with you to hunt it down.
I have been here for over two years and we rarely have major issues like this in a widespread manner. Saying that we need to "sort it out" is uninformed. I'm sure you were just frustrated with your situation, but please allow me to have a moment of frustration with your frustration. Hrmph.

Hey Evan, Right on :)
Regarding to my post, the issue I describe only happens on flickr. Other services seem to be doing fine. Have you heard/experienced anything like this? Basically, try clicking on any flickr image from the media bar and see if flock stops responding for about 5 seconds by clicking/scrolling in other tabs/windows.

@aleksod:
Yes, I see the Flickr freezing issue when viewing images from the media bar. I think I see a similar freeze when on the Flickr site when middle clicking to load the image in a background tab. The problem may be related to media stream/feed detection stuff.
On Firefox 3.0b5 I do not experience this. I do not see this problem with Photobucket in Flock either.

Yes, the issue is flickr specific. Using Media bar was just the best example I could think of. Whenever one views any image on flickr via the bar or their website, Flock freezes.

Hello aleksod,
Thanks for contacting us. We have this bug filed, which I think is very similar: https://bugzilla.flock.com/show_bug.cgi?id=12520. Is this what you're experiencing?
This was fixed in Flock 2.0 Beta 1, so I was hoping you would try out the 2nd Beta and see if you still experience this issue. Please let me know how this goes.
Thanks so much,

Thank you, Jen. This is exactly what I experience with Flock 1.2!
