full screen videos

I bought a Dell Laptop a few days ago. I have installed flock on it. When I try to view a video in full screen, my screen is black. I have tried the same in firefox. It does the same thing. In IE it plays the video full screen. Because of that, I am assuming it is something with the browser? Do I need an add on? Please help!
