Update:This problem has been solved in Flock 1.1.1. To fix the sidebar issue please download and install Flock 1.1.1 from www.flock.com or by going to Help>Check for Updates. Thanks for your patience and help!
We've seen reports that some folks are logging into Facebook as usual, but the People sidebar in Flock isn't opening. It's as if the login to the page is working, but the additional features in Flock aren't available (specifically the People sidebar isn't recognizing the login). That's exactly what's happening: for reasons we don't yet fully understand, the Facebook API is not allowing authentication in these cases.
These symptoms don't seem to be very wide-spread, but until we've determined and fixed the API issue you might see this behavior. If you do, here's how to work around it. With the help of some Flockstars out there we've gotten a hold of Facebook accounts that exhibit this problem, and we've discovered the following work-around: in all cases we have found that clicking the 'Accounts' or the 'Privacy' link on facebook.com will "kick-start" the API authentication, and the People bar will start working again.
If you are logging into Facebook and not seeing the People sidebar as usual, please click on Privacy or Accounts on the facebook.com page. This should make API come to life and allow the authentication you need for your people to flow into the sidebar. If clicking either Accounts or Privacy on the facebook.com page doesn't return things to normal, please let us know (flock-feedback2 at flock dot com).
We will work with the fine folks over at facebook.com to get a permanent solution to this in the coming days. In the meantime, please follow the instructions above, and accept our apologies for this temporary inconvenience.
Thank you

I'm having this very issue. When I click on Facebook in the sidebar, it says to log in, but when you log in nothing happens in Flock.
Hey Harry,
What happens when you try the workaround Dan mentioned?

I hope you get this sorted soon. I just installed Flock because I read how great the Facebook integration was :-)
BTW, none of the workarounds actually work...
absolutely nothing
Nah... clicking Accounts or Privacy do not kick-start the API at all. Sorry, but the workaround does not seem global.
Likewise, no results for me either after clicking 'account' or 'privacy'. Although I did notice that under applications in the privacy settings Flock is not an authorized application.
It used to be authorized before I tried a 'forget account' then re-install to try and fix the problem. Now I can't get it to be authorized no matter what I do...
the workaround also doesnt work for me. :(
I've loved Flock since I got it and this issue just creeped up in the last two or three days... :S
Same issues here the work around of clicking on account or privacy does not work. Still shows logged out in my people tab
Nothin', sorry dude. Did not fix the issue. Thanks for trying though!
I pulled my jumper cables out this morning to try to get my sidebar revved up, but alas, the battery is totally missing. :-) The workaround isn't working for me either. Thanks for the heads up though, it's always better to have some communication about what is wrong than thinking you are the only one who is having the problem. I love flock and I know you guys will get this worked out soon.
The workaround isn't working for me either. Hope it's fixed soon, the facebook application is one of the best things about flock!
Hey folks,
This fix won't work for international accounts (Flock 1.1.1 contains a separate fix for that). Are any of you running international Facebook accounts?

The workaround did not work for me either (other services work fine). Thanks for the update--I'll keep checking in.
The workaround is not working for me either , i totally love this browser , hope you guys can get it sorted , : )
That happened to me as well after I imported my settings from firefox this morning. What I did was logout of facebook completely and login from the login page (www.facebook.com), clicked remember password, logged in, and that seemed to have resolved the issue. I hope that helps.
I have to say that I also cannot get facebook to log in, even with the workarounds. Hope you guys hunt this down soon; I love using flock for all the other features, but facebook (and maybe myspace {please please please}) would make a giant difference!
Workaround doesn't work - and I don't have an international account. I can log in fine to Facebook but the sidebar doesn't recognize it.
Also - if I already logged into facebook, then click on the Login to Facebook button in the sidebar, I get a page at facebook that asks just for a password. When I enter my password I get an error message from facebook that says:
Incorrect email/password combination.
Facebook passwords are case sensitive. Please check your CAPS lock key.
It doesn't work for me either. Not sure if I have an international facebook account or not. Hope you can get it fixed soon.
Rok
Hey Folks,
This problem may be solved in Flock 1.1.1, which is available here at flock.com but has not yet been pushed out as an auto-update. Please download 1.1.1 (running the installer will keep your settings) and give it a try. Let me know how it goes!

Moving to Flock version 1.1.1 fixed the problem for me. Thanks.
None of the work-arounds fixed the problem. I uninstalled Flock and replaced with it a clean install, downloading 1.1.1. I removed all my profiles, started fresh with new ones and it now my Facebook sidebar works! Yea!
This might have been overkill but at least it works.
Doesn't work for me either. I have Flock 1.1 for Mac.
yip am having this issue (Ubuntu 7.10 Linux)
@macgrl @Cyrus: Please download Flock 1.1.1 from www.flock.com. This should solve the issue...if it does not, let me know.

Updating to 1.1.1. did the trick. Good work!!
I had gotten a message that I needed to restart Flock for v. 1.1.1 update, but I put it off. As soon as I sent you my last message, I restarted Flock and guess what? Facebook is baaaaaacccckkkk!
I installed version 1.1.1 of Flock but the Facebook login still does not work. I don't see the people side bar since it believes that I'm not logged onto Facebook.
Yay! It worked. I so love the Interweb.
1. A problem
2. Google the problem
3. Find solution in first Google result
4. No more problem.
Thanks!
Great Job. I updated to Flock 1.1.1 and the problem is finally solved.
Thank You
Hi Paul B,
Thanks for letting us know. Can you double check for me and make sure you have 1.1.1? If you type "about:" minus quotations into the address bar and hit enter, it will tell you the Flock version you're on.
Also, have you tried logging in and out of the affected services and seeing then how the Side bar works? If you have tried both of these things, please get back to me and we will go from there to figure this out together!
Keep on Flockin'

i have installed version 1.1.2 on linux (ubuntu), and the facebook issue still is here. no matter how many times i login to facebook, flock doesn't accept it. i even get the "popup bar" about now i will see my friends and the account being authenticated, but in the bar left the account is displayed as offline...
I've got version 1.1.2 of flock and am having this problem (again). None of the suggested fixes work, including total reinstall of flock. Am going to try downloading v1.1.1
