Love Flock! Love it.
But, I can't use it to its fullest extent until it can support OpenID authentication.
Can you at least post something on the blog about where your thinking is on OpenID? It would make a big difference if you just haven't gotten to it yet, but plan to on date X, or to know if Flock has issues with OpenID that are blocking integration.

I am interested in understanding more about your use of Flock and how it is interfered with because we haven't got Open ID in yet. Are the other login methods for ma.gnolia.com and livejournal.com not suitable? Please help me understand.
We have Open ID on the to-do list, certainly. We haven't prioritized it higher because only two of the 15+ services we have integrated support it. Both Open ID and Oauth are of interest to us. If we understood how it holds you back, this would help us get it on the P1 list.
Thanks

I can't speak for OP, but it seems like he was just saying that it should be there, and was surprised that it wasn't. I'd like to toss in my vote for this: it's the kind of endeavor a browser like Flock should make sure to support.

Hey, I just tried to log in to ma.gnolia.com with openID, but it doesnt matter how many time i login/logout, flock always asks me to log out again for the integration.
openID is quickly gaining traction in the new web for unified login. I'd love to integrate flock with ma.gnolia.
Cheers
David

@David Novakovic: you can activate magnolia in flock by logging in with your magnolia email name and password - facebook login and Open ID login do not activate the account yet, so login old skool one time and your magnolia account will be set up in flock.
@conor: vote registered, and appreciated.
We will see how we are able to slide this into a project as the new year starts up. I have your additional user votes here as ammo for making this a higher priority, so thanks.

I would vote for openID too; I use openID whereever I can. Ma.gnol.ia is one case but also on my own wordpress blog. I don't know how it would be integrated but it would be really nice.

I'd love to see Magnolia OpenID support in Flock as well. I suppose I could use another email-related login, but I'd really prefer not to.
I guess the question is, can I associate an email account login to my existing Magnolia account that currently uses OpenID? If so, then I'll gladly use an email login.

I'm having the same problem as David Novakovic only on live journal. I use OpenID for every thing I can and I don't really want to create a new account for places like Live Journal or every individual's blog. I'm known by my OpenID in several different communities now and when I can't easily use OpenID it kinda defeats the point of using Flock for me.

The whole point of OpenID is to have one central authentication service, so we DON'T have to have separate accounts at every service. Since FLock is attempting to become THE app we use for all these services, it makes sense that it would prioritize OpenID support as a further centralization function.
Ideally, I'd point flock to my OpenID URL and then Flock would use that for any service that supports OpenID. For those services that don't support OpenID (yet), fallback to their auth system, whatever that is.

in the meantime try Sxipper, Mozilla Add-On that has OpenID support.
