Web Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Flock is looking for a multi-skilled designer to join our crew in Redwood City.

Obviously, you'll be working quite a bit on our main site, but we'll also be looking for design work on periodic interface projects, mini-sites, partner programs, and all the other little bits of work that crop up. Because we've got a tiny design group here, you'll be working on everything from the planning stages, to initial concepts, to css/xhtml implementation, to working with the developers to integrate your work. You'll be brainstorming ideas and helping shape the ideas others introduce. You've got to really get excited about creating intuitive interfaces that solve complex issues. You'll need to be able to see the whole user experience when designing the UI. We will be designing to a new visual style guide, but will also expect you to play a role in evolving that style as our company matures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A strong portfolio of work that we can see would be an enormous asset for applicants. An accompanying description of your portfolio, describing its strengths and even its weaknesses, would be even better. Strong sensibility for typographic layout desired.
• Very accomplished css and xhtml skills are required. Flash work and software interface design a strong plus.
• Experience with subversion, php, and javascript would be great.

Test Engineering Lead

As the Senior Test Engineer at Flock, you will play a key role on our engineering team. We are currently seeking a Senior Developer with leadership skills that is fluent in the design and implementation of engineered testing systems within a large and complex system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate has architectural expertise, detailed systems analysis expertise, and very strong C++ and Javascript skills. Experience in test automation techniques/tools and test engineering best practices are considerable assets.

Senior Software Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Flock is seeking another software development kung fu master to join our team. If you are looking to join a high performance team and work on the next versions of The Social Browser, and you are skilled in the arts of design and development within the Mozilla code base, we'd like to talk to you. We need top-notch skills in JavaScript and C++, and ideally direct experience with Mozilla.

The person we are looking for is a self-starter, capable of producing great work with minimal supervision and in a geographically distributed team. Ability to work in different development styles for different projects (larger waterfall type projects as well as rapid prototyping XP style projects) is important too. A knowledge of the browser space and social networking space, and a passion to contribute to cutting edge work in this area, is another characteristic we are looking for in this position.
