Why are the firefox themes not working with Flock?

Hey toni,

Flock's interface is significantly different than Firefox's...Firefox themes would break Flock features.

We're working hard to make theming for Flock a possibility this year, which will hopefully include porting some Firefox themes.

Is it possible to return to the old theme?

Hey fabs,

It is not, but I'm sure one of the first themes created will be one that looks like the old theme.

i agree with georgeyoung..., flocks theme is perfect, compliments to the designer..., what would be nice though, is the ability to obliterate the 'my world' page and add themes, pics and whatever to that... but, theres no rush for that at all - flocks already surpassed my epic expectations

I think I still prefer the simplicity of the Firefox themes over the flock theme. Firefox 3's theme is simple, clean, and not too complex. I don't like the cluttered look of flock's default theme, or how it stands out against the Windows XP style. The gradients on the toolbars draw attention away from the buttons, and the giant star button to the left of the address bar is too large and conspicuous. In FF3, I like the way that the bookmark (Star) button is smaller, and left-aligned in the address bar. The Back and Forward buttons in Flock are also too small for how often you use them. The interface just seems too unnatural for me. Flock desperately needs to get a new uncluttered theme. I'm trying to port the FF3 theme right now, but I'm not good with overly complex CSS or XUL, so I'm having trouble. I really don't get how everybody else seems to like the interface.

Hey Nuck,

Thanks for your feedback. We're always trying to make Flock less cluttered but still discoverable...it's a fine line. I will send your feedback on to the team.

FYI, you can remove items from the chrome by right-clicking and choosing customize. Then just drag things you don't want into the dialog box, or move them around the chrome.

I wouldn't try to port your FF3 theme quite yet, we're doing a revamp of the back-end of the theme to make this easier. You can email brij at flock dot com for more info on that. I'm sure he'd be happy to work with you to get the theme ported. I'd love to see it!

I like that skin, but how do I download it?

That colour green would match perfect with my Vista colour scheme... i have winstyler to alter my vista theme.
