Install Flash Player 9 In Flock

If you're developing applications with Adobe Flex, you'll need Flash Player 9 to view the applications. To get Flash Player 9 working in Flock, do the following:
Simply copy C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\NPSWF32.dll to C:\Program Files\Flock\flock\plugins\NPSWF32.dll.

I've blogged about this on my blog. If you want to Digg it, do so here.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Great hint Mike. I think this also works with other plugins, but I have not tried this myself.

You can also use the "Version Test for Adobe Flash" page to verify you have installed Flash Player 9 correctly.

How do you install flash 9 beta into flock? With Mozilla I just changed the libflashplayer.so and I get flash 9 with mozilla but I tried the same with Flock and still have flash 7.

I run Kubuntu Edgy Eft.

Odd, my Flash 9 under Linux is half-working: it appears ok in about:plugins, but websites don't recognize it, and keep telling me to install it :/ Any ideas?

Ruby, I'm having the same problem with Flash under IE 6 on XP. It passes the plug-in tests and some Flash things work, but others don't since I installed Flock. I've rebooted and reinstalled Flash, but it didn't make a difference.

What if it's a .xpt (not .xpm) file we have?

Yeess! Thanks God i found the solution!!!!!!!
Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and copy and paste both flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll into C:\Program Files\Flock\flock\plugins
Next restart Flock and voila!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there,

Here's the link: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe.

You may need to run C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\uninstall_plugin.exe FIRST to clean up older versions which seem to conflict.

Please let me know how this goes.
