Yep, that's our guid. If you look carefully, you can find a l33t version of our name in it. I'm not up on all the details of our theme, but it'll definitely be a departure from the Firefox theme. We have more toolbar buttons, for example, so you'll have to snag our image and make your buttons fit within the dimensions of ours rather than Firefox's. That's probably no surprise, though.

Yeh, i actually stumbled upon that yesturday. Only thing is, i couldnt remember where i saw it.
I got a beta that im working on, but for some reason it wont read it in the themes window, is there any specific reason as to why? I put the jar into the chrome folder, i think that would be all that would have t be done

Actually, this is the first look that I don't even want to skin. I've never quite found a firefox theme that I want to stick, long term. I do however enjoy the elegance and fun styling of the default flock theme.

The only theme I stuck with in FFox was called SkyPilot. I liked the slick look, and the fact that it made the Toolbars thinner, thus giving more room for the actual browsing pages. Anyone still using FFox 1.5... go to Mozdev.org and do a search for SkyPilot. Give it
a look. Trouble is, it doesn't fit with FFox 2.0 Sniffle

ok... i was wondering if there is a difference between firefox and flock themes. i mean like if i wanted to use a ffox theme in flock, would it work?
Chappy
No, I don't think so. The reason being that the buttons are spaced differently than in FFox. Otherwise, I think they'd work. Afterall, Flock is pretty much a "Community Share Stuff" version of FFox. The engine, or build, is the same. Or so I have read. I am not geeky enuf to take my word for it. At least as any kind of authority.
I find that reading these forums that after a while I can tell who knows their stuff, and I take the word of the guys who sign their posts w/things like "Webmaster", etc.

And flock has buttons like the rss icon and the pics icon that FF doesn't use.

When I open 'Tools -> Themes' in Flock and click on 'Get more themes', there are no themes listed on the page that displays.

Has anyone made any themes for Flock, or ported them over to Flock from other applications? If so, please provide their names and URLs so I can test them. Give me the link to the information page (or download page) and the download link, so I can read what's new (changelogs) and who made or modified the theme. Personally, I do not like the default Flock theme and would like alternatives.
The Extensions Mirror (TEM) would be glad to host (mirror) extensions and themes for Flock. We just added new forums for Flock and Sunbird.

Hopefully, this comment will show that I am now a verified member.

Hey Seamaiden,
There are a lot of changes to the UI for Flock 1.0; because these are not set in stone, any themes would fall apart when we hit 1.0. As soon as we have the UI nailed down we're going to get some themes and theme-making tutorials out there for you folks. I can't wait to see some user-generated Flock themes, but I'd be really sad to see them break when 1.0 cam out.
Flock on,

OK, fine then... we need to wait until 1.0 for themes... but when will 1.0 be released? Isn't this project 3+ years old now? I'd love to be able to shake this default theme. I'm not looking for anything flashy... just something more Mac-like. I LOVE the features of the latest version of Flock... it's just not very Mac Friendly - looking. But then, neither is Firefox either. Oh well... Thanks for a great browser, with really great new ideas!

Hey Jackson,
I understand your frustration. We set an aggressive new schedule for ourselves in January and have been on track ever since (see Shawn's blog post). We're currently testing 0.9 and it should be out in 7 weeks or so.
Regarding themes, I just had a meeting on Friday with the folks working in this area, and things are really coming along. We are beginning documentation shortly and will be letting a few folks come try things out before we make it public. If you're interested in theming, please shoot me an email.
Thanks for your concern and interest!

As a user (from Australia) living and working in China - I love "flock" its so much faster than firefox which I have been using for the last three years with some problems (which I was able to work around) - Now that I'm a converted "flock" user as with some of the other posts Id be really interested in seeing some themes/skins up for "flock" I'm not really a coder but I am a designer - So if anyone is interested let me know thru this "post' and maybe we could put something together for the upcoming release...CHEERS

well it would be nice to seem some nice themes for this browser, just for a change at least, one can get bored quickly with the same old colors all the time. This is a very good browser, but themes are needed and those that will install correctly.
