Flock did not import my bookmarks from Netscape 8, what can I do?
Early reports suggest that some bookmark import processes are not completing. If your bookmarks were not all imported by Flock, you can import them manually by following these instructions:
1. Open Netscape 8
2. Open the Bookmarks menu
3. Open the Bookmarks Manager
4. Open the File menu of the Bookmarks Manager
5. Choose "Export"
6. Export your bookmarks as a .html file
7. Open Flock
8. Open Flock's Favorites menu
9. Open Flock's Favorites Manager
10. Open the File menu of Flock's Favorite Manager
11. Choose "Import"
12. Choose the correct .html file
I came to Flock from Netscape8: how can I get my multiple profiles back?
Flock does not have a multi-profile manager enabled by default, which means that when you migrate from Netscape 8 to Flock, you will not have all your profiles set up. You can recreate your profiles by following these steps.
1. Open the Start menu
2. Click "Run"
3. Type in "flock.exe -profilemanager" (without the quotes)
4. Click "Ok"
5. When the dialog box appears, uncheck "Don't ask at startup"
6. Use the "Create Profile" button to create each of the profiles you had in Netscape 8
7. Open Netscape and go to each of your Netscape 8 profiles, then follow these instructions:
Open the Bookmarks menu
Open the Bookmarks Manager
Open the File menu of the Bookmarks Manager
Choose "Export"
Export each profile's bookmarks with the name of your profile (ending in .html) in a location you can find again.
8. Open each profile you set up in Flock
9. Open Flock's Favorites menu
10. Open Flock's Favorites Manager
11. Open the File menu of Flock's Favorite Manager
12. Choose "Import"
13. In each profile, import the correct .html file
You will still have to set up your other options within each profile, but once done Flock will remember this information.
Why won't Flock form-fill my passwords and other information?
Flock does not have the form-fill features that Netscape 8 does. Flock, upon your approval, will remember your logins and passwords, but you'll still have to manually press the login button.
If you would like form-fill features similar to Netscape 8, Sxipper is an extension that has all these features and more. You can install Sxipper directly into Flock. Sxipper is available at www.sxipper.com.
Sxipper is in no way approved or tested by Flock Inc. Sxipper is a third-party extension designed for Firefox-based browsers. Any problems with Sxipper should be sent to the Sxipper team, not to Flock.
