Flockstar Kiro has created a Mac Flock screensaver, inspired by the Windows Flock screensaver announced just before the turn of the new year.

If you've created something cool about Flock, be sure to let us know in the community fourms like Kiro did, we'd love to feature your work on our blog.

Flockstar Stii has two more tutorials for everyone! His first two were about RSS and favorites in Flock. This time he's done a two part series about blogging in Flock. First up is how to setup your blog in Flock and second about how to create a blog post in Flock. Just like last time, he's put a lot of work into these, each of them is a step by step guide with screenshots and available in both an HTML and PDF versions.

Hey Flockstars, Community Ambassador Evan is too humble to say so - but today's his birthday. Happy birthday bud! Maybe we need a Flockstar birthday calendar or something. If you know any Flockstars birthdays, email Evan or I and we'll give some shout outs. :)

Tech industry blogfather Michael Arrington named Flock one of his Web 2.0 Companies I Couldn’t Live Without. We're quite lucky to be included with such fine company as Digg, Flickr, Gmail, Skype and YouTube.

We’ve been fans of Flock since we first started covering it during the original Bar Camp in August 2005. It just feels like a complete ecosystem rather than the hodge podge of sometimes incompatible additional add-ons that you get with Firefox. If Flock didn’t exist I’d be a happy Firefox user, but it does, and I use it as my primary browser.

Happy New Year from everyone at Flock. We hope that you had as much fun in 2006 as we did, and we're looking forward to showing you more great things in 2007!

What's your Flock resolution? Mine is to "Flock it like it's hot" by blogging more often.

Flockstar Stii has published two sweet tutorials about how to use Flock. The first one is about subscribing to websites with RSS and the second one is about bookmarking and favorites. He put a lot of work into these, each of them is a step by step guide with screenshots and available in both an HTML and PDF version. Stii, keep at it buddy and if you need anything feel free to give me a shout.

A simple question to kickstart your creativity: if you could change one thing about search in Flock, what would it be? Would you add something different to the as-you-type dropdown, or take something out? Would you change the default search plugins? What else? Remember, you have to pick one so make it the thing you really, really would love to see :)

Dearest Flockstars,

Over the next few weeks I will be moving to a part time contract position with Flock and handing over much of the community management to Evan Hamilton. You'll still see me blogging a few times a week about community news (send me stuff!), gathering feedback and responding to bloggers, and pitching in to help him where it fits. Evan is very capable, a natural at the job and I have great faith in him. Please give him the same warm welcome and cooperation you did for me.

Before the rumor mill starts, allow me to nip it in the bud - this was my decision and I will remain a part of the Flock family. In the fast paced environment of a startup, it's a big challenge to be the lead community facing person. Being offsite in Canada and made it even harder to give you folks the excellent work you deserve.

I'm not sure yet what my next full time adventure will be, but you can keep in the loop on my blog and my Flickr photos, and you can always get in touch if you want to. Who knows, maybe I'll even start a YouTube show.
