I am writing to share some exciting Flock news. We are in final QA testing for our upcoming 0.9 beta release, have lots of momentum and continue to invest in growing Flock’s capabilities and talent base.

As I've mentioned in previous blog posts, 2007 is all about enhancing Flock’s ability to execute our plans and ship enhanced versions of our product. Towards that end, I’m pleased to announce the promotion of Clayton Stark to the new role of Vice President of Engineering at Flock. Clayton has the proven skills and specialized experience to help Flock continue to execute, and we're excited to welcome him to this pivotal new role at the company.

Clayton joined Flock in the middle of 2006 and has most recently been working as our Director of Product Development. Previously he was the Chief Operating Officer at Mercurial Communications where he built and led the Netscape/AOL Project team. Flock is a company with distributed employees, contractors and a vibrant global community of both users and developers, and Clayton will drive enhanced systems and best engineering practices within our company and across our distributed teams to support this complex and exciting work.

Stay tuned, because tons of great stuff is coming up with our soon-to-be released 0.9 beta upgrade and our 1.0 release later this fall - we have the team, the roadmap and the capability in place now to make it all happen, and I look forward to sharing more good news with you shortly.

As always, please feel free to send any questions or comments to shawn at flock dot com.

Flock is a web browser for social activity, how about adding an integrated E-mail client?

Hey btyop,

We will definitely consider this. Flock 1.0 is already in the planning stages, so this is not likely to make it into that version. However, it could very well be something we look into down the line.

Flock on!

Hi, I've just been converted to Flock and I decided to just throw my two-cents into the mix.

First off I just want to congratulate you on an excellent browser. Not many browers have managed to keep me hooked for a while, but Flock has already had me contemplating uninstalling Firefox (which has been my primary browser for years). What I like best about Flock is the ease of use and the excellent GUI. It provides exactly what I need when I need it and because of the fact that it sports a well designed (GUI and Otherwise) RSS Reader (which I've had to download for Firefox) as well as integrated blogging and image uploading, I can easily see it becoming my primary browser.

I eagerly await your next release, as I'm sure you've only made it better!

Once again, great job on everything!

Thanks for the Flock love, xangelo! Flock on!

I'm using the 0.9 beta recently posted from the front page to write this :) I've run tinderbox builds for several months and have been getting excited about the upcoming release because of all the UI improvements in particular. Fantastic job!
