flock-cereal-box.jpgWow, we have come a long way! The product has had fantastic evolution in the four months since our last major release. I now have the most fun and productive web experience I have ever had.

Milestone 11 is here:
MSWin, MacOS Universal, Linux

* If you are running a recent milestone build, you should have already been informed of an update.

The milestone build is the best way to stay up to date. Our testing team tests to make sure that Flock is working well. Download the milestone build and you will stay up to date with additional fixes right through to the release.

The first beta of Flock should be available within the next couple of weeks. We do not know exactly when, because we are still testing and making sure it will match our and your expectations of experience and quality.

We are a small team and you have made a huge contribution to getting us here! Flock is yours, and the open source code ensures that.

Our team has grown, and we continue to hire leaders in our fields. We are still going to break rules and take risks, but I think we have reached a critical mass of experience in our team that will mean our next release cycle will have significantly more opportunity for collaboration and contribution.

Could not have said it better myself, Lloyd.

Fantastic, I love you...

I'm looking forward to the first BETA release! Flock has come a long, long way!

Hi Lloyd:

I've been following Flock's milestones and they are getting better and better. First Beta release will be a big splash in Blogosphere.

Regards,

Omar.-

FYI, the Flock Favorites menu in 0.7.0.11.1 contains two items which lead to [customized] 404 errors at Flock.com: "Participate" and "Help" which lead to flock.com/participate and flock.com/help, respectively.

Congratulations! Back at the 0.4 release I was a little dubious about how valuable this browser would be, as it would appear to be for quite a niche market. It's come a long way since then, and now I can't wait to see the full 1.0 release!

Jason H, Thank you for reminding us of this. The Flock website is being updated at the same time as we release Cardinal.

I really liked the new Feed reader. The Front Page/summary of the feeds is awesome! Now, I can finally keep up with my 100+ feeds I am subscribed to. Great work.

What about bringing the Topbar back to its older glory? Also, when you download files, can the download be in a tab instead of a new windows? (like Opera) :)

In my last comment, you asked me which Opera features I want to see in Flock and I will submit those ideas soon.

But the Flock theme is gone! I, like many others, loved the buttons of the Flock toolbar. BooooO!

Other than that, great browser!

Had my first crack at 0.5.0.15 until I stumbled across this post and 0.7.0.11.1.

Have to agree with a couple of the comments above (bring back the old topbar and theme). Once you've tasted cheesecake, you don't want to go back to yoghurt.

Not to sure where I am supposed to post bugs, but FYI small bug when I customise and add the "New Tab" button to the nav toolbar (for example, click on My News button or menu>tools>my news and it opens a new tab instead). Plus, bit of old ff legacy text to remove: ctrl+b is for new blog but is still written as ctrl+b under menu>view>sidebar>favorites

I concur about the new buttons / theme, just nowhere near as sweet as the old one. Ditto with the topbar. Otherwise the rest is looking great.

I love it every day more! :-)

Sid - reenable the topbar with this setting in about:config

flock.favorites.enableToolbarSelector - set to true

A little off topic
I'm pretty sure that the Flock's software box was made by GraphicsGuru.
I just thought you may want to know for proper notoriety.

Yes Ken I made the box in photoshop ;)

Thanks Ken, and, of course graphicsguru -- and appreciate your kind email graphics guru. i have updated the description on photobucket.

Your welcome Lloyd
enjoy;)
