Hi Folks,

We've deployed the 0.7.4 incremental release for download. Notable fixes/enhancements are incorporating Mozilla's FireFox 1.5.0.5 security patch and enabling Internationalization. The localization teams are working very hard to have localized version of Flock available over the next several days/weeks.

From the release notes:

  • Based on FireFox 1.5.0.5
  • Internationalization Support
  • Fixed drag and drop issue with dragging URLs or XPI files to the browser window
  • Handle HTTP authentication properly in feed discovery
  • Display top 4 results from Yahoo! instead of 5
  • Added EULA to Mac distribution

We plan on turning on the automatic updates for 0.7.x users in a day or so.

Thx,

Mike

Sounds great. I anticipate the automatic update being turned on so I can update.

Its there on the download page. If you really can't wait just download the full version and it will give you the option to keep your existing profile etc

After Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.5 release regressions discovered in this of Firefox also affectted are other gecko 1.8.0.5 based browsers Seamonkey 1.0.3 and Flock 0.7.4.1

Great enhanced firefox browser, would be perfect if it had greasemonkey support and had built in support for vox.

Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.6 fixes the regression found in version 1.5.0.5 release carries gecko 1.8.0.6 revision number. The new version source code can be found in the directory http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/1.5.0.6/source/.

Waiting nicely for the auot update. ;)

David Haun, we already included the Firefox 1.5.0.6 patch, but of course could not announce that until Firefox 1.5.0.6 was released.

Is there any compelling reason not to turn on auto-update, since we're now nearly a week from "a day or so".

Doing a full download just isn't worth it for me, since the features I mainly rely on are (afaik) still broken, but I would like to catch-up on everything else, as well as whatever new stuff you've put in.

Hi Mikro2nd,
We turned on automatic update in a day or so? What OS and version are you running?

Thank you,
Lloyd

Hi,

the german translation is awful, especially the favorites menu. The texts doesn't make clear which action Flock will take if I click on it.

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for letting us know that you do not find the German translation good. It is done by volunteers. Are you able to help make it better?

All the best to you,

Running Flock on Linux (Mandriva and KUbuntu) - Flock is still stuck on version 0.7.0.12.1.0 since no auto-updates have happened since then.

Hi mikro2nd. That version 0.7.0.12.1.0 identifies that it was a continuing testing tinderbox build and not an official release. Pleaes download an official build.
